4th Annual Red Rock Rendezvous

March 23 - 25, 2007

The Red Rock Rendezvous is a rock climbing festival that takes place each March in Red Rock Canyon, 30 miles outside of Las Vegas. The festival attracts nearly 900 people, 500 of whom attend a variety of climbing clinics taught by professional athletes and American Alpine Institute guides. Many people come to the event to simply enjoy festival activities, games, contests, great food, and beer from New Belgium Brewing Company. What a great way to spend a three-day weekend!

This year's Rendezvous was a total hit, made even more so by three days of absolutely perfect weather - clear skies, a slight breeze, and 80 to 85-degree temps. Here are a few pictures that help tell the story:

A group competes in a very unique competition called "Stranger-neering", where groups of strangers are assembled and then must figure out a way to climb and boulder over, under, and around each other.

New Belgium Brewing Company provided unlimited free beer and wine to all paid Rendezvous participants.

Festival participants and guides camped out in this beautiful big field, part of Spring Mountain Ranch State Park, where the festival was held. Spring Mountain Ranch is just a few miles from the Red Rock National Conservation Area.
